Trend Alert 2012, Leather Shorts, Would you wear them in the summer?

What I want now for a summer staple is some leather shorts. I have been looking for a pair and I think being a 40 plus mom, I better play them down a bit and go for a chic camel pair. I love Olivia's look below. Everyone has these shorts from Zara to Barneys'. What I want to know is would you wear leather shorts in the summer let me know??
